Aspen/Snowmass site, named “Outstanding
Web Site” in
2008 WebAwards competition
Aspen Skiing Company’s website, www.aspensnowmass.com, designed by San Francisco–based web design and branding firm 300FeetOut, was named a travel industry “Outstanding Web Site” in the Web Marketing Association’s 12th annual WebAwards competition.
300FeetOut designed the Aspen/Snowmass site to be fast-loading and highly interactive—and to give visitors the sense they’re already hitting the slopes at the famous Rocky Mountain resort.
Like all websites nominated for a WebAward, the Aspen/Snowmass site was judged by experts who awarded the site 0–10 points in each of the following seven categories: Design, Innovation, Content, Technology, Interactivity, Copywriting, and Ease of Use. The judges rated the Aspen/Snowmass site well above average in all seven categories.
The judges also praised the website’s “wow!” factor and the “really great features all used toward the purpose of the site.” Aspen/Snowmass endorses the judges’ high opinion of 300FeetOut’s design of the website. Since 300FeetOut originally redesigned the website for the 2007/2008 season, its popularity and effectiveness have gone up noticeably, with site traffic increasing by 80 percent from the year before.
