“We wanted our website to reflect the current dynamic nature of Fort Mason Center as well as respect the history. We have over 15,000 events each year so the site had to be super-clear and user-friendly. Intuitive navigation and easy functionality were absolute essentials. We are very happy with the results from 300FeetOut.”

Fort Mason Center
A hive of activity gets an effective online makeover
Day or night, there’s no more dynamic a place than Fort Mason Center, where the San Francisco Bay’s shifting play of light and water is the backdrop for theater and dance, workshops and classes, exhibitions and congregations of all sorts. Occupying 13 bayfront acres of a former military base dating back to the Civil War, Fort Mason Center buzzes with activity and energy.
In designing the Center’s website, 300FeetOut approached the lively diversity of Fort Mason from several angles. An online visitor can explore through a Calendar of Events, a Directory of Residents, a Box Office, or a one-click filter that sorts events by highlights such as Kids/Family Activities, Health/Wellness, Food/Wine, Nightlife, and ten other categories. The site’s color scheme changes with the time of day, enhancing the sense of a window on the Center’s every moment.
With an array of performance, exhibition, and convention spaces available for rental, Fort Mason also needed an easy-to-use, online rental management system. 300FeetOut delivered a new level of sophistication in how the Center’s rental venues are displayed and rental applications are interactively processed. A simple, intuitive content management system lets the Center’s team update daily event listings and keeps the site current and interesting. It all adds up to a user experience that’s as fresh as the breeze off the San Francisco Bay.
