300FeetOut Suffers an Embarrassment of Accolades
Humility is in short supply this season at San Francisco design firm 300FeetOut, where principals have been forced to call a moratorium on champagne during working hours. “Of course it’s nice to get awards,” explains VP Operations Barbara Stephenson, “But the spills get sticky.”
Among the honors recently bestowed is a 2008 Applied Arts Interactive Award (in the un-modest category of Self-Promotion) for the company’s recently launched home page, “You’ve Landed 300FeetOut.”

The 300FeetOut.com website was also crowned a WebAwards Standard of Excellence 2008.
Lest it appear that all the 2008 awards were claimed by the company’s own self-promoting homepage, several client websites also received laurels from WebAwards and the Adrian Awards (“the Oscars of Traveling and Hospitality Marketing”):
Aspen/Snowmass – The Power of Four (www.aspensnowmass.com):
an excitingly interactive website enabling snow lovers to hit the slopes online.
- WebAwards: Outstanding Web Site 2008
- Adrian Awards Bronze 2008
The Setai, South Beach (www.setai.com):
showcasing Miami’s most elegant luxury destination.
- Adrian Awards Silver 2008
Geisel Privathotels: 4 Hotels, 17 Stars, 100 Years (www.geisel-privathotels.de/en/):
presenting a “family portrait” of the venerable but chic Geisel hotels in Munich.
- Adrian Awards Bronze 2008
If more awards are forthcoming, 300FeetOut staff is prepared. According to CEO Nina Dietzel: “We can say 'Mazel tov' in 14 languages.”
